Katherine “annie” Hicks, LPC-Associate (Not accepting Clients until Aug 2026)

Kate Osis, LPC-Associate

As a person-centered counselor, I prioritize and value each client’s perspective and expertise on their own lived experience. My hope is to walk alongside clients on their path to healing, illuminating areas for growth and exploration while providing support.

I have several areas of interest, including:

Anxiety, perfectionism, self esteem, grief and loss, relationship issues, recovery maintenance, and adults whose caregivers/spouses may have struggled with addiction.

My approach is holistic, and is rooted in curiosity, empathy and compassion. There are several approaches and modalities that I integrate into therapy based on each client’s unique needs, and these include parts work, dialectical behavioral therapy, somatic techniques and narrative therapy.

I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest, and received a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from St. Edward’s University in my hometown of Austin, Texas.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, yoga, being outdoors and spending time with my husband and our pet family.

I help people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, and disconnected from themselves or from others to find deeper understanding, healing, and new ways of relating. My goal is to create space for you to explore what’s feeling challenging, build insight and connection, and move toward clarity and wholeness.

I have several areas of interest, including:

People-pleasing, anxiety, perfectionism, relationship issues, identity and self-esteem, big life transitions, and religious/spiritual challenges.

My approach in session is warm, genuine, and deeply collaborative. I integrate several different approaches into therapy based on each client’s unique needs, including somatic therapy, internal family systems, and emotionally-focused therapy.

I completed my undergraduate studies as well as my master’s degree in Public Policy and Leadership at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. After several years working in the corporate world, I completed my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Outside of the therapy room, I love to try a new restaurant or coffee shop, soak up the Austin sunshine on a trail walk, or dive into a good book (mostly fiction, but I like to mix it up!).
